It’s Ramadan, so every Muslim household is loaded up with dates.
I feel like we’ve all heard of the vanilla date-shake which consists of mostly vanilla ice cream and medjool dates. So I thought it’d be a good idea to switch it up for a healthier, lighter option.
This is a good shake for breakfast (post-Ramadan, of course) or maybe even dessert because it’s an extra sweet shake!
5 Medjool Dates, Pitted
1 frozen banana
*Keep in mind, the more brown your banana was before it was frozen, the sweeter and more banana-y it’s going to be. I prefer to freeze most bananas when they are mostly yellow.
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk or milk of your choice (my husband prefers it with regular milk)
1 teaspoon Nescafe
Crushed pistachios to sprinkle on top
Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend! Pour into a glass and serve immediately. It’s really that simple!
Feel free to adjust it to your taste. Some people may like less dates and more banana. You may hate bananas and you can substitute crushed ice instead. Maybe you’d like less coffee flavor or more of it. Totally up to you!
